We are Georgia's only gold museum located at the site of an actual gold mine.
Pine Mountain Gold Mine was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. Pine Mountain Gold Museum was awarded The Southern Arc's Best of 2008 "Best Tourist Attraction". In 2009, we received the "Interpretative History Award" from the Carroll County Historical Society.
Both local and national attention was drawn when the museum and park were featured on WSB-TV's "Georgia's Hidden Treasures" and local Douglasville TV station, dctv23, "Insights" with Chairman Tom Worthan.
We invite you to bring the family and enjoy a day of nature trails, the live farm animal exhibit, a picnic in our covered pavilion, panning for gold and gemstones, an authentic 1858 stamp mill, the gristmill and a self-guided tour of the museum and the ruins of Pine Mountain's gold mines. Don't forget to shop for souvenirs and panning supplies in the museum shop.
Scheduled group tours of 15 or more may enjoy a discount on museum admission and panning. Knowledgeable tour guides will accompany your group as you tour the museum, pan and explore the mountain gold mine ruins. Please call Carla Smothers at 770-459-8455 to reserve your group tour.
